For those of you that know me, you are aware that I walk to the beat of my own drum...meaning that I really stick to my guns and do my own thing. I don't like compromising my principles for anything. I have to be true to myself. This often leads to me being black balled, looked down upon and overall being shunned by certain circles, but I'm OK with that.
It is a rare occasion when I find a brave soul, either in SL or RL, that has the strength of character to remain true to him/herself in the face of certain harsh repercussions. Because of this, I have decided that when I do find a person of such high level of integrity and strength of character that I must award him or her the STEEL STILETTO award.
For the first winner of this award, I have chosen a woman who's class, poise, intelligence, grace and professionalism I see as top in her class. This woman has put in all of the hard work necessary to earn the respect of everyone in the fashion industry. Even though she has reached a level of fame most only dream of, she is still honest, genuine and approachable, without the slightest hint of Divadom.
Recently she, in a fashion befitting the style of Margaret Thatcher, with utmost grace, tact and poise, stood up for herself and refused to compromise her ideals and sense of self deciding to become independent of a very glamorous and prestigious fashion icon house. This is not to say that the fashion house she is parting ways from is wrong in any way, but simply that they want very different things.
I applaud her valor in recognizing when it was time to leave the party. Most of us, stay far too long in positions, organizations and relationships that have long outlived their usefulness for either party. It takes a very strong sense of self in order to recognize when it is time to move on. Because of her beauty, intelligence, grace, poise and overall elegance in making her feelings known and exiting with the utmost class, I am awarding the very first STEEL STILETTO award to Miss Rusalka Callisto!
Miss Callisto, thank you for showing the rest of us, what it is like to be the best in every situation. Your grace under fire is an inspiration to us all!

Tres Beau in Fashion for Life
My dearest readers,
RL work is kicking my behind so it's keeping me away from SL for a while. However, when there is such a worthy event as Fashion for Life I must take the time to bring attention to it. http://www.fashionforlifesl.org/
For those of you that aren't aware of Fashion for Life, it is a great event filled with amazing creations by SL's top designers. This event is a fundraiser for cancer research! I know my family has been touched by cancer many times over and I can personally tell you that we need to find a way to beat this monster. I urge you to visit the inworld location and check out all of the stores. They have amazingly beautiful fashions and the money goes to a worthy cause. Here's Tres Beau's store to get you started: http://slurl.com/secondlife/DreamSeeker%20Epoque/118/127/27
Kimmera Madison is presenting as one of her limited edition Fashion for Life gowns, a custom gown she created for me: Red Carpet in Royal Blue. It's a fantastic formal gown, in the usual flawless design she is known for. This is a royal blue satin gown with silver lace overlay that has a chapel length train. It is a body hugging mermaid silhouette, which brings out all of your deliciously dangerous curves. The top is adorned with a one shoulder design of it's soft satin draped and topped off with silver roses that frame the face delicately. Ladies, this gown is breathtaking! I suggest you get your smexy butts over there ASAP and get it before it's gone forever.
Here are some pictures so you can see it for yourself!

A Tribute to Tres Beau!
Hello my lovely readers!
I know it has been a while since I posted, but RL sometimes takes over, especially during the holidays! However, I am now back, rested and ready to RAWK!
I'm not sure if you all know, but I am currently participating in the Miss America Latina 2012 pageant. Though I am from Puerto Rico originally, I will be representing the nation of Guatemala. As one of our tasks for the contest, each participant was tasked with finding a TOP NOTCH designer to make a one of a kind gown for her to wear as her formal gown in the competition. As you can imagine it is quite difficult to obtain a gown of such quality. I searched my inventory to find which designer in my opinion had the kind of creative artistry and supreme attention to detail and found the answer in a wonderful french expression: TRES BEAU!
Oh yes, Tres Beau, which means VERY BEAUTIFUL, is just that! The creative genius behind this fashion house is called Kimmera Madison Fall. Her designs are beautiful, elegant and whimsical. The choice of soft silks, shiny satins, flowing chiffon, and intricate lace in her dresses is breathtaking. Each piece has it's own story to tell.
The gowns from this fashion powerhouse are both timeless and cutting edge. Many of her pieces can and are mix and matched with other pieces in a model's closet to create rare and unique ensembles that become the envy of all! Below I am wearing the Tres Beau Polka Spot in Red dress. I paired it with sequence black leggings and Finesmith Alexandra jewelry to give it a more edgy and modern look.

The Great Dame.....
They say that behind every powerful man there is a strong woman. I suppose if you are a strong enough woman, you can support two very powerful men at the same time. What happens when those men are on the opposite sides of the law?
She married young to an idealist lawyer convinced he could make a better future for the citizens of Chicago, even though everyone knew the mob continues to run their speakeasies and buy the politicians and cops. She loved his optimism and righteousness. She comes from a good family of social standing and class. ....so how is it that this same woman could fall in love with a mob thug?
She lives in her guilded cage, protected from all but yearning for adventure. It had been too long since she felt her pulse race with excitement. As she walked home from the theater one night, her husband left her to deal with some new murder that was reported to the State Attorney's Office. She was but two blocks from home and felt completely safe. Had she known what was ahead of her, perhaps she would have asked her husband to take her with him....or maybe not.
He was hiding in the shadows of the alley before her block. Her eyes softly glancing ahead, lost in thought arranging her appointments for the following day, she didn't even hear his footsteps as he stepped behind her. Suddenly his strong arms embraced her from behind in a tight grip lifting her off the ground. A large hand covered her mouth.
Her heart was beating strong and fast as wild fear and excitement filled her veins. He pulled her into the alley and into the darkness. He whispered softly into her ear with a voice that resembled the low growl of a wild lion. "Don't make a sound lady and I will let you live." She could barely breathe!
"I have a message for you, and you need to pay attention cause I don't repeat myself. The boss wants you to get us information on the case your husband is working on. If you do this, I will let you and your family live. If you don't give me nothin' then well, I gots to do my job."
Her veins went cold with fear at the words. The man stepped back just enough to be able to finally see his face. Through the shadows a hint of light glistened on his grey eyes. His gaze was penetrating. His lips were full and inviting, yet seemed fearsome, as if he could devour you instantly. There was a scar across one of his brows that gave his face a strong character. He was strong and tall, and most definitely looked like he meant business.
She swallowed hard and said, "very well Sir...And what shall I call you and how will I find you?" He grinned seductively at her. "My name is Myrlin and I'll find you"
And with that, started a passionate affair filled with danger, betrayal, passion, love, hate, jealousy and obsession. Where it will end, no one knows.

Prism Yumminess with the new Keira.....
Yes, Journey did it again! Another super comfy and yet delectably smexy knit dress from Prism. It was just released this week and you can get it at the usual spot! http://slurl.com/secondlife/Bal%20Harbour/30/167/22
There are a variety of colors and prints. This time I went with a soft bluish grey and black combo that is too die for.
This fabulous knit dress uses the softest wool imaginable. The body hugging cut hugs your curves in all the right places. It's turtle neck keeps you warm. It even brings arm warmers and thigh high wool socks to keep you nice and cozy.
What are you waiting for?! Go get your own :)

How young is too young?
In an industry where youthful looks are the most valuable of commodities, how young is too young for a model to appear in a provocative campaign? The pages of fashion magazines are often filled with teenage girls who are barely exiting puberty. These ingénues who range in age typically between 13 and 17 years old often are made to look as if in their 20s with makeup layers, sexy clothing and sometimes even depicted as smoking or in sexually provocative poses. This is not something new. We have grown accustomed to seeing their baby doll eyes staring back at us from the covers. However, a few months ago a new precedent was set by a cover model for Vogue. Take a look at the pictures below. Let me introduce you to Thylane Blondeau.
This gorgeous model with the piercing eyes that seem to entice the photographer to ravage her then and there is a mere 10 year old little girl. Yes, you read right…TEN years old. She hasn’t even entered puberty yet, and here she is in very sexy clothing, makeup and posing as a grown woman would in private for her lover. So I ask you, how young is too young?
The fashion industry continuously bombards all media with images of younger and younger models. The age wouldn’t be an issue, but it is the combination of children with sexually charged clothing and poses that is disturbing to me. In a world where children are more and more being exploited and sexually abused, why are we continuing to allow and encourage such behavior from these organizations? The images of this little girl are the equivalent of a Playboy spread for pedophiles the world over!
10 year old Morgain Le Fay |
I am not saying that if you are a child you should not model, simply that it should be age appropriate work. I ask that each of us as individual be vigilant in the protection of our youth. These are innocent children that should be allowed to play and learn at their own pace; not be made into sexual objects before they even are old enough to know the word.
In Second Life, we can represent ourselves in any age avatar we choose and it can be quite liberating. However, there are those who would use that as a tool to further sexualize the image of a child. Be vigilant and ensure that the world, whether RL or SL, is safe for children everywhere. This is a serious issue and should not be ignored.
